OpenBadgesUA (Open Badges Ultra) is a project in the context of the subject Computer Systems
of Engineering degree in Computer Science from the University of Alicante. OpenBadgesUA is a project developed
"inside" of the University of Alicante, but is not an official project approved and supported by the University of Alicante.
As Open Badges is the name used by Mozilla and we didn´t want
to confuse anybody, we put the suffix UA (Ultra). Why ultra? Other suffixes such as "MX", "X" or "XP" are
already well known, so we needed a new one. According to the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy, one of the
meanings of ultra is
'beyond', 'next to' .
OpenBadgesUA goes "beyond" what is offered by other systems and is "next to" Mozilla Open Badges.
